About Expanded Polystyrene

For quite some time, I had toyed with the idea of creating three-dimensional works where painting would be incorporated with sculptural forms.

The polystyrene phase created some agitation. Some loved it, some misunderstood it and some read too much in it. To me it was a way of creating drama by means of colour and figures. However, it was the composition, which dictated and not any psychological externalisation of my inner self. If that is what happened, it happened naturally and not through any preconceived exposure of my psyche. At any rate this work got my art noticed. At last I felt I was going somewhere. But what next? This is the most pressing question that artists are faced with from time to time.
